New DFC Content Management System
by Jonathan C. Jones
Digital Faith Community has created a new content management system, making it easier and more user friendly than ever to create and update member websites. In addition, there are several new features that members can use to further engage their audiences.
The new system begins with the hub page (see at left). Here everything is neatly arranged on a single page that shows lists of the most recently edited folders, pages, images, events, and files. You can see the last time they were updated and with one click you can access your files and pages.
A "View All' button allows access to a complete list of all your pages and files. An enhanced search capability gets you access to a specific folder, page or image just by typing a few letters in the search box.
Once you have located a page to edit, you will see a preview pane that allows a nearly identical display to your live website. Clicking the "Edit Page" button changes the pane to allow editing with the controls you are used to using (see at left).
Along with the new system are several new features and improvements including online payments for all your events, "publications" that group your news stories or posts into subject headings of your choice, and an increase in the maximum file size allowed (up to 35 Mb) so video/audio files can be accommodated easily.
